Mineral Oxidation Degree of Flotation Separators is Adjustable
The oxidation degree of the minerals is a key factor that has much effect on the performance of the flotation separator, especially in the flotation process of the metallic sulphide ores. It’s been proved that the mild oxidation of the mineral surface for the sulphide ore will improve the flotation property of the minerals.
It’s known that minerals are easy to be oxidized in the open air during the processes of storage, transportation, crushing and flotation. The excessive oxidation phenomenon will make the mineral’s floating ability weaker. Therefore, in order to control the oxidation degree of the minerals and adjust the floating capacity of them, we can take the following measures to realize the best performance of the flotation separator.
1. When using the flotation separator, we can add a proper proportion of oxidizing agents like potassium permanganate, manganese dioxide and hydrogen peroxide or reducing agents like SO2 to prompt or constraint the oxidation degree of the mineral surface.
2. We can adjust the air inflating volume of the ore pulp tank of the flotation separator.
3. It will make difference to adjust the PH value of the ore pulp because the mineral’s oxidation speed is different within different PH value ranges.
4. It’s necessary for users to control the stirring and flotation time. Data shows that the strength and time for the stirring process will be a key factor that influences the mineral surface oxidation degree.
All in all, we can see that the mineral oxidation degree of the flotation separator is adjustable. Once we do well in the adjustment and operation process, we will surely make full use of the flotation separator.
